Period 2 boy missing,police puzzled

Teaching Aims :

1.Train the students reading ability .

2.Learn how to read a newspaper article.

1.Fast reading to get the general idea of the text  .

2.During the fast reading, help the students know some methods of reading a newspaper article .

3.Careful reading to understand the passage better .

4.Discussion to activate the students’ imagination .

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Greetings

1.Greet the whole class as usual

 

Step 2  Lead-in

Slide show of some pictures.( Draw their attention )

1.show pictures in group about UFOs and then tell them something about UFOs.

2.show pictures about E.T/alien and then tell them something about E.T.

3.Ask:Do you know why they come to the earth?what will they do on the earth?

Step 3   Fast reading

1 . Let the students complete the title and according to the title ,ask some more questions.

  Eg : From this title ,what information can you get ? Can you predict what the news story will talk about?

2.Read the text quickly and find the answers to the following questions .

What is the article about ?

Who is missing?

Do the police know what happened to Justin?

Which paragraph tells the main idea/point and the most importang facts?

Which paragraph are about the time and place Justin was missing?

Which paragraph are about possible causes of his disappearance?

3.Deal with the reading stratedy

Step 4 . careful reading

1.Ask students read the first paragraph ,and do pair work..

2. Ask one students to read paragraph 2 and others finish the blanks.

我 的 教 学 反 思

 

本单位的话题是神秘事件或现象。此次比赛选择的是本单位的第二课时Reading部分,关于UFO的神秘事件。现在我们学校使用的教材是牛津版,新教材的使用对师生有了更高的要求。经过反复揣摩教材,这堂课应该是“师生互动探究”的一堂课,要创设一定的情景,并且借助多媒体教学,把单元教学目标中训练学生的阅读能力和学会如何阅读报纸文章,科学地分解到这节课中来完成。由过去英语教学中的“知识立意”提升为“能力立意”。

在教学过程的设计和每个教学环节(step)教学方法的设计上,根据新课程、新课标、新教材的要求,努力做到使课堂教学的全过程符合英语教学的基本规律,使有关环节的英语教学方式符合“自主学习方式,研究性学习方式,合作学习方式和任务型教学方式”的要求。

先是向学生展示关于UFOalien的照片,激发学生学习兴趣,同时导入本课话题,然后让学生补充文章标题,让他们了解到报纸文章的一个特点,通过讨论和标题有关的问题,培养学生用英语思维和表达的能力。接下来是阅读能力的训练,先是Fast reading回答一些问题,包括文章前的“读前问题”,还增加了一些文章结构有关的问题,通过回答这些问题,一步步引导,让学生了解报纸文章的其它特点,从而更好的理解和掌握Reading strategy,在Carefal reading这个环节,我是把文章分成三个部分,第一个部分让一个学生读;第二个部分让学生齐读;第三个部分让学生听。这样安排好处是,一是巩固了学生刚刚所学的阅读技巧——报纸文章的倒金字结构(重要——次要——细节);二是培养学生的听力,帮助纠正发音,每一部分Carefal——reading之后,完成Part C2相应部分,最后安排了一个活动,根据一个情境,组织一个采访。我觉得这样可以引发学生联想,深入浅出,实现对话。

上完课之后,发现了教学的设计和过程中存在着一些问题:

1、因为准备仓促,有一些教学步骤还没有安排到位。尤其是直接上本单位的第二课时,没有融合第一课时的部分内容,学生对这个话题还有些陌生,课堂气氛不够活跃。

2、对学生要求和评估太高,我安排了一些与文章要点、结构有关的问题让学生回答,原本是出于想更好的帮助理解Reading strategy,然而学生回答的很不好,影响了教学的效果,这些问题比较适合高年级学生,不适合刚刚步入高中的高一学生。

3、对多媒体的应用不够熟练,在设计本课时,有很多的多媒体效果很想运用,因为时间仓促,操作不熟练而没有运用,多媒体应用对我的英语教学提出了新的挑战。

通过这次比赛,使我对新课标有了更好的理解,也反映了我的很多不足,在以后的教学过程中,我将更加努力,把下一堂课上的更好。
